This report describes the characterization of freshwater habitats for Puerto Rico made for the Aquatic GAP Analysis Program for Puerto Rico under the supervision of Dr. William Gould from the USDA International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF). Maps generated in this report are available as shape files and can be found in the data base of the GIS and Remote Sensing Lab of the IITF.Primary components of this report are: 1 ? description of rivers of Puerto Rico, 2 ? rational to establish the methodology of freshwater characterization, 3 ? results, and 4 ? Limitations and advantage of the freshwater mapping.
