Resumen:
when the animal or any of their parts moves to perform vital functions. In tetrapods, this movement is made through limbs. In our laboratory, we work on diversity, development and influence of epigenetic factors, of the locomotor system of tetrapod, particularly amphibians. We identify as epigenetic factors those that modify the expression of genes of an organism without altering its sequence agents. In this context, some questions are arising: can a tetrapod move excessively to generate pathologies in their constituent tissues? Is this excessive movement will have the same consequences for the development or adulthood? By contrast, what are the consequences of the immobility for locomotor performance? Our group addresses these issues complementing tools from anatomy traditional, histology, experimentation, to analyze the diversity and development of tendo-musculoskeletal system of the locomotor aparatus of Anura, emphasizing inscarcely studied elements, such as tendons and sesamoid. This has allowed us to contrast as the "normal" phenotype is modified by the lack or excess movement, showing that the latter is a major epigenetic factor for the correct formation, differentiation and function of organs and tissues of the musculoskeletal system.
