Osteology of Leptodactylus latinasus (Anura: Leptodactylidae) and the validity of its subspecies

The controversy on the validity of the subspecies of Leptodactylus latinasus is analyzed from an osteological point of view. The coincidence of diverse characters states of the skull, hyoid and pectoral girdle indi- cates that it is a monotypic species, in spite of some morphological differ- ences (especially in the snout), observed among diverse populations.
