Resumen:
The development of new bio-based materials is a scientific challenge and also a requirement in order to achieve progresses concerning environmental sustainability. Fatty acids, which are extracted from renewable resources and present high chemical versatility, can be used as an alternative to petrochemical raw materials to obtain low volatility monomers and produce bio-based polymers1. The aim of this work is to synthesize methacrylated fatty acids monomers from oleic and lauric acids to be used in the polymerization of biobased thermosetting materials.
