Resumen:
Polyurethanes are a remarkable class of polymers that exhibit a wide range of thermal and mechanical properties. Thermoplastic polyurethanes are block copolymers that owe their elasticity to their biphasic morphology. These elastomers consist of phase separated rigid and soft segments or domains. The soft segments are composed mainly of polyether or polyester polyols that give the material its flexibility, whereas the rigid domains provide the elastic recovery when thermal-treated by acting as physical crosslinks. Besides, the properties of segmented polyurethanes were observed to be highly time dependent. Thus, the aim of this work is to study the aging of segmented polyurethanes (SPU).
