Resumen:
A low viscosity, very hydrophilic natural polyol was obtained by castor oil alcoholysis. Rigid foams and wood flour (WF) reinforced rigid foams were successfully prepared. The WF reacts with the OH groups of the isicianate (MDI) and thus, acceptable foams can be prepared using up to 15wt% of reinforcement, even though the compression properties decreases and the thermal conductivity increases as WF concentration increases. The characteristic times are larger when using the natural polyol (with respect to those obtained with commercial ones), and this allow to achieve uniform mixtures.
