Resumen:
Renewable energy sources are alternatives to fossil fuels. These sources contribute to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, diversify energy supply and reduce dependence on volatile and unreliable fossil fuel markets (particularly oil and gas). In this context, solar energy has a key role in the premise of having available electricity with less environmental impact. Within the classification of solar energy are present the Photovoltaic (PV) systems, which are generally installed in areas with many sun hours. The continuous exposure of PV modules to high solar radiation causes an increase in temperature, which greatly reduces their efficiency. This paper shows the importance of taking into account the effect of temperature on the overall performance of a PV energy conversion system. In order to quantify this influence on PV systems, detailed models of PV modules have been developed using the SimPowerSystems tool of the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
