Resumen:
The pseudosuchians are one of the two main splits of Archosauria and are represented in recent times only by crocodiles. In Argentina, the most prolific Triassic pseudosuchian-bearing units are in the Ischigualasto-Villa Unión and Marayes-El Carrizal basins of the San Juan and La Rioja provinces. A total of 13 currently valid nominal species constitute the Triassic Argentinean record of pseudosuchians and eight species are known from coeval beds of Brazil, representing the vast majority of the main lineages of the group. This pseudosuchian record documents a taxonomic and morphological increase from the early Carnian to the late Carnian−middle Norian, which may sample the latest phase of biotic expansion of the group after the Permo-Triassic mass extinction. There is no clear palaeobiogeographical signal among Argentinean Triassic pseudosuchians, but this may be a result of a mainly cosmopolitan pattern for the group as a whole during the Late Triassic.
