In this work the mechanical behaviour of self-curing crosslinked polyurethane foams for nucleus pulposus replacement is described. The stress-strain performance of closed-cell foams prepared by using the same procedure followed in the surgical practice is investigated through uniaxial and confined compression tests. The results suggest that these polymeric foams are suitable for the proposed application.
