Resumen:
The purposeofthisworkistoprovideamorecompleteframeworkforthedevelopmentofshort-termthermoplastic modelstoimprovethedesignoflinerssubjectedtoexternalpressure.Adevicetoperformshort-term physicalcollapsebucklingtestsonHDPElinerstoemulatein-servicebehaviorundercon-trolled conditionswasdesignedandconstructed.Testswereperformedtoexploretheeffectoftem-perature(intherangeof0?60 °C) onthebucklingparametersofaHDPEpipeconfined inasteelhostpipe. Theconstitutivemodelforthismaterialwascalibratedfromcompressionandtensiletests,per-formed atvariousstrainratesandtemperatures.TheThreeNetworkviscoplasticmaterialconstitutivemodel wasadoptedtoreproducematerialbehavior.Full3DFEMsimulationsofcollapsebucklingtestswereconductedandvalidatedagainstexperimentaldata.Oncethe3DfullFEmodelwasverified asimplified 2Dmodelwasgeneratedtoperformanintensiveparametricstudyconsideringmanytem-peraturesandpipeaspectratios.WithdataarisingfromtheparametricstudyapredictiveGlock?s typefunction wasderived,whichtakesintoaccounttheeffectoftemperatureandtheviscoplasticconstitutivebehaviorofHDPE.
