Resumen:
The cytogenetics, considering the information that the chromosomesgive, is a new element for the analysis of natural relations betweenorganisms and for the taxonomic work promoting an importantadvance at the current knowledge about primates. This way, wecorroborate the presence, in this zoo, of 12 Allouatta caraya (ACA),6 Saimiri sps. and 2 Cebus paraguayanus. This is the result of aworking group formed by Maza University, GIBE and Mendoza´sZoo. The anthropometrics measures of 12 ACA and 2 Cebus aswell as the karyotypes of 8 female ACA and one male are showed.These anthropometrics measures are correlated with the onesobtained in wild animals. ACA showed 2n:52 with a particularmultiple system of sexual determination X1X1X2X2/X1X2Y1Y2. Thissystem was described before in this sp. The karyotype of the Cebuswas 54, XY, with it corresponds the type described to Cebusallowing us to clasificate this as Cebus paraguayanus. This studycontributes to a better knowledge of the primate species, inexposition at this institution and in a National level allow us toexpand the information at the databank of the Primates Proyect. Inthis Project, from a genetic perspective, hypothesis are proposedand inferences are made related to the genomic characteristics ofthese primates, typical of our zoology, related with findings of thewildlife of these primates of austral distribution.
