Resumen:
Cryptorchidism is an anomaly of the reproductive system of mammals, and leads to a failure of the normal descent of the testes in males. Testicular descent is influenced by both genetic and non genetic factors. Two related stallions have been the primary object of this study one of them, the son, with criptorchidism unilateral. Conventional cytogenetic analysis by karyotyping has been the primary tool used to investigate these horses. The two stallions studied had normal karyotype 64, XY. There were no chromosomal rearrangements that could provide information on the possible location of candidate genes involved in equine cryptorchidism.
