Resumen:
Ambos autores contribuyeron de igual manera a la confección del manuscrito.MESOTHERIIDAE is a clade included in the Order Notoungulata that lived from the early Oligocene (Tinguirirican South American Land Mammal Age?SALMA) to the early?middle Pleistocene (Ensenadan SALMA) 25 (Flynn et al., 2005; Cerdeño et al., 2012). The mesotheriines Typotheriopsis and Pseudotypotherium are well-know but poorly diagnosed. We reanalyzed dental features in Typotheriopsis and Pseudotypotherium samples to evaluate their relevance in a taxonomic framework and to help in identifying also fragmentary material and isolated dental mesotheriine pieces. This contribution reevaluates previously recognized taxonomical features and deals with new characters. This expanded set of features allowed us the identification at generic level, in some cases for the first time, of incomplete or disassociated remains.
