It focuses on the intersection of history and biography, i.e., the study of the migratory and occupational experiences during the lifetime of men who live in a rapidly changing society. The book is the culmination of the Monterrey Mobility project, based on a large sample survey in the city of Monterrey, Mexico, where innovative methods of data gathering, coding and analysis were used, including specially designed computer programs.
