The purpose of the article is to analyze the patterns of working-class activity under the second Peronist regime, concentrating attention on the strikes and stoppages that took place. The focus is on the frequency and intensity of the disputes looking at causes and forms of manifestation and taking into account the types of trade union action and governmental responses, as reflected in the measured adopted by the Ministry of Labour. The changing role of the organized trade union movement and the trasnformations in popular mobilization will the crucial dimensions in the interpretation of working-class activities during the period.
