Resumen:
A free boundary model for the diffusion of oxygen in spherical aggregates of soils with simultaneous absorption at a constant, linear and nonlinear rate is formulated. The problems are solved by a modification of the Constrained Integral Method. The obtained results are consistent with those due to earlier authors who have solved the problems using fixed domains. The results obtained by our model for diffusion with simultaneous nonlinear absorption over predicts the experimental values improving the Sierra et al.’s under predict results in fixed domains. Our model represents an alternative and more realistic method to study and to generalize the present models.
