Resumen:
In the present paper, a new species of Asteraceae: Lessingianthus magnificus Deble & Dematteis, from the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and north of Uruguay is described. Close to Lessingianthus macrocephalus (Less.) H. Rob., differs by the hairs of the leaves, as well as involucral bracts obtuse and dense lanate.
