Resumen:
This article presents the case of the Gauchesco Museum "Ricardo Güiraldes", located in San Antonio de Areco city (province of Buenos Aires-Argentina ), in which, although a flood of 2009 jeopardized its heritage, this event was an opportunity to rethink and update the Museum. However, the intervention project produced tensions between city residents who mobilized against the intervention claiming that the way it would be done could put in danger its heritage again. Recently, a new intervention project was implemented through capturing the community interests to achieve a better intervention processes.
