Resumen:
The Lactobacillus casei (Lc) addition to renutrition diet induce proliferation and differentiation from myeloid and lymphoid series in bone marrow (BM) of undernourished mice (UM). The Lc administration accelerates the clearance of pathogen during an infection. Aim: To study comparatively cell populations of spleen and BM, during renutrition with the Lc addition. To analyze cellular mobilization and explain the possible mechanisms involved in the clearance of pathogen. Materials and Methods: groups of UM were feed during 7, 14 and 21 days with: balanced diet (BD) with Lc the last 2 days of each period of renutrition (BD+Lc). After that, we determined: body weight increase, spleen and thymus weight, hemograma, % of reticulocytes, % of peroxidase positive cells (P+) in peripheral blood (PB) and BM, CD4+, CD8+ and CD19+ cells in spleen and BM. Results: Every diet increased the corporal weight, spleen and thymus weight of UM, without significant difference with or without the Lc addition. The leukocyte count was normalized at 21d with both diets.  Malnutrition induces an important decrease of % of reticulocytes in PB. At 7d, both diets induce into top of retiulocytes being higher with BD+Lc. The % of P+ cells was recovered with 7d of BD+Lc. In spleen the % CD19+ cells was normalized with 7d BD+Lc and at 14d with BD, in similar situation as happened in BM. And the CD8+ cells reached the normal values at 14d with both diets as in BM as in spleen. In BM the CD4+ cells was normalized at 7d with both diets without significant differences between them, but in spleen the normalization happen at 7d just with BD+Lc, while with BD was normalized at 14d. Conclusion: The L. casei addition to renutrition diet, accelerate the cellular populations normalization as in spleen as in BM. The increase of peroxidase activity and the improvement in lymphoid population of spleen, would explain the fast and efficient cellular mobilization in presence of an infection.
