Resumen:
Composite materials have the capacity of preserve the properties of each material that comprise it, or increase it synergically. Hydrogel (HG) matrix is based on PNIPAM-co-AMPS and it is semi-IPN with lineal polyaniline (PANI). The composites are obtained through two methods of semi-interpenetration (semi-IPN). One of the methods is based on the swelling of HG in acid aqueous solution of aniline monomer (ANI), and subsequent in situ polymerization reaction. The other method proposed is the swollen of HG in solution of lineal PANI/NMP (Nmethylpyrrolidone). Even though they have identical chemical composition, the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows different morphologies for each material obtained. Swelling capacity and phase transition temperature (Tpt) are affected. By method 1, the composite keep on Tpt values similar to pure HG and an increasing of elastic module (E) is observed. While by method 2, both Tpt and E increased until reaching a constant value. Both composite are electroactive when pressure is applied on composite. We demonstrate that NC shows mayor response as sensors of pressure according to Strain Gauche (G) obtained, while SIC could be used as electro-thermal switch. The study of composite properties could be advantageous to several technologic applications.
