Resumen:
The populations of some areas of Argentina are exposed to arsenic (As) through drinking water and there has been a high correlation with bladder and lung cancer. Two of the greatest medical challenges are the early diagnosis and localized treatment, without damaging healthy tissue. Tumor samples were obtained from two inhabitants exposed to arsenic (As) and were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence microtomography and microX-ray fluorescence spectrometry, using synchrotron radiation (SR-XFCT and SR- XRF). These technologies provide valuable information related to the distribution and accumulation of elements that can be used in the diagnosis and localization of malignant formations.
