Resumen:
A model to simulate the behavior of multi-tubular packed-bed catalytic-reactors was recently proposed [Zambon, M. T.;Asensio, D. A.; Barreto, G. F.; Mazza, G. D.,Ind. Eng. Chem. Res. 2014, 53, 3587]. Its basic feature is the spatial identification of radial thermal resistances close to the wall. In particular, the model introduces a heat transfer coefficient hwf accounting for an unmixed fluid film on the wall and a coefficient hf between the fluid channels at a distance Dp/2 from the wall. CFD simulations intended to evaluate these parameters are described. Four regular sphere arrays between parallel planes providing different combinations of wall and core channel voidages (e1 and ec) were employed. Reynolds and Prandtl numbers ranges were 100
