Resumen:
The relevant experimental works concerned with the evaluation of radiant heat exchange between gas fluidized beds and immersed surfaces have been analyzed. Radiant heat transfer rates from eight sets of experiments have been compared with the results of a mechanistic model accounting simultaneously for convective and radiative contributions in the dense phase (Multiple-layer Model, MLM). Model predictions agree well with most of the experimental data involving a wide range of operating conditions. Probable reasons for significant deviations in some of them were identified.
