Resumen:
ABSTRACT:Perfomance of timing in programs wrote and compiled in FORTRAN77 and C are compared. Classic algorithm for multiplying and-inverting matrix are used. We show that FORTRAN is more effective for this kind of calculation through comparative difference with C is in range of 10%. We worked with square matrix of maximum size of 400 rows that store double precision values. Results are displayed with time observed for multiplying and inverting matrix running. A table with obtained results of inverse matrix is added. Applying optimization procedure a strength reduction in computing is observed for both languages. For matrices of 400 rows timing is reduced to half.Comparative enhancement from C language is observed in results the accurate of. FORTRAN have values with 5 significative digits. C by the way have 7 significant digits.
