Resumen:
Pleistocene lacustrine relictics deposits, Tiopunco region, Santa María Valley, Tucumán, Argentina. In this paper we present for the first time the existence of pleistocene lacustrine relictic deposits for the Tiopunco, Region, Amaicha, Tucumán. These deposits lie in angular discordance with the Andalhuala Formation. They are composed by fine sediments, silstones to sandy silstones, in a thickness of 9 meters. In its upper section is contains fossil gastropods, determined by a Biomphalaria sp, Lymnaea Viatrix; Succinea aff. S. Meriodionalis y ?Radiodiscus sp., and undetermined microvertebrate remains. We assign theses outcrops to a shallow lacustrine palaeoenvironment. It being able to be related to the paleolago of the pliestocene El Paso Formation, in the north of Santa María Valley.
