Resumen:
Vav proteins are Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors with rolesin physiological and pathological processes. The three members ofthis family normally show functional redundancy and are associated with proactive functions in cancer, but their role in melanomawas poorly explored. We aimed to characterize by bioinformatic approaches processes differentially regulated by each member of thisfamily in melanoma. All packages were used in R. Gene expressiondata of skin cutaneous melanomas was obtained by TCGABiolinksfrom the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). We divided patients according to Vav1, Vav2 and Vav3 expressions. Survival plots wereconstructed using the Kaplan-Meier estimator. High Vav2 expression was associated with a worst prognosis (p=0.037) while Vav1and Vav3 correlated with patient survival (p=0.0056 and 0.00011).Differentially expressed genes between the groups were consideredfor |FC|>1.5 and FDR
