This article aims to demonstrate that the phenomenon of revelation operates in Marions phenomenology as the paradigmatic phenomenon that shows the secret of manifestation. It accounts for the essence of phenomenality insofar as all manifestation has at its core its givenness in excess. Thinking manifestation in terms of givenness implies understanding it as a secret, inasmuch as the appearing of all phenomena involves a movement in which something shows itself in its hiding and hides itself in its showing.
