From Jean-Luc Marion?s examination of Gustave Courbet and his painting, it is shownhow grief can operate as a model for the hermeneutics of love. This hermeneuticsof grief, in turn, makes possible a consideration of all phenomena, and not only thehuman, as saturated phenomena.
