Resumen:
The specific action of complex agents in the disolution of iron matrix is underlined in this work. Fossil fragments from Puesto Viejo Formation (Scitian) were treated at different concentrations of thioglycolic acid (TGA), Mohr salt and pH. lt was noted that at: TGA = 5 %: Fe(II) = 0,3 % and pH 3,90 the matrix dissolution was best. Finally the chemical cleaning method used on the skull of the camivorous cynodont Cynognathus minor Bonaparte is described. As a result, structural details not described until now were observed.
