Resumen:
The goal of this work is to discuss the causes of the variability in charcoal analysis data from the Neolithic sites in N.E of Iberian Peninsula. Charcoal analysis from open air settlements, caves, burials and sites with special activities, like livestock farming or processing of lithic raw materials, offer an overview about the firewood uses and forest management between these societies. The particularities of local vegetations and transformations in the landscape are, without doubt, one of the factors to consider in the explanation of the taxa variability. But this one is also the result of the firewood management strategies. The size, the permanence or the activities made in the settlements as well as the nature of site are the main factor to explain this variability.
