Resumen:
The signal scattered from a finite size object, when illuminated by a frequency rich signal, is uniquely determined by a set of natural resonances that depend only on the electrical and geometrical characteristics of the object. In this paper, we propose a classification method for different dielectric materials that is based on this principle. To overcome the problem ofestimating the number of relevant resonances, we propose a classification scheme that uses the numerical range of the matrix pencil associated to the initial problem.
