Steady-state analysis of variable step-size Affine Projection Algorithms

A new variable step-size Affine Projection Algorithm (VS-APA) which maximizes the speed of convergence is introduced. A steady-state analysis of variable step-size APA is carried out. The results obtained are general in that no assumptions on the transient dynamics of the step-size or on the input signal statistics are made. Therefore, these results can be applied to any variable step-size APA with stationary inputs. Finally, the performance of the proposed VS-APA is tested, along with the steady-state expressions obtained.
