Resumen:
In this presentation we expose how the excesses and shortages of water provoked by human and non-human interventions are conceived and experienced by the Guarani, the Ranquel, the Pilagá and the Toba Peoples of Argentina, South America. We start by presenting three situations where water manipulation by agents that conceive it as a natural resource has greatly harmed the Indigenous Peoples among whom we conduct anthropological fieldwork. The description of these situations will allow us to problematize how water imbalances affects indigenous peoples, for whom relationships and bodies are intimately linked to a water regime that must be kept in balance, avoiding both excesses and shortages. As we will state, for them, water is not only the cosmological conductor that connects living and dead people but also an operator of relations between the various entities that constitute the world and a key element in the construction and transformation of the human body.
