Resumen:
Thanks to a grant from the Argentinean Society forNeuroscience Research (SAN) we participated in BrainAwareness Week 2019 with classroom activities in fourthgrade. ?Neuroscience of the Senses? explores the functionof the brain with respect to the five senses by means ofgames and hands-on demonstrations. The project startedwith preparing the materials to take to the classrooms, the instructors manual and contacting recipient schools. 13instructors were split in couples to reach classrooms of 20elementary schools imparting more than 33 classes. Theinstructors were mainly advanced PhD students and PIs.Two instructors would arrive at their designated schoolwith a box bearing all necessary materials and equipmentfor the class, which in some cases included carrying a microscopeand a projector. Instructors were previously trained ingroup sessions with others prospective instructors and thehelp of a manual that also included a suggested script. Theultimate goal is to build a periodic activity for BAW and tohelp colleagues to repeat it in their cities. During the posterpresentation we are going to share more details of the activityand the wonderful experience of interacting with themost curios creature in our galaxy: 10 years-old kids of H.sapiens sapiens. This could not have been done without thehelp from SAN, INIMEC, MinCyT-Cordoba (Cientıficos conVos y Voz) and CONICET-CCT/Cordoba.
