Resumen:
Financial inclusion increases savings, promotes investment and the expansion of the domestic market, and consequently favors economic growth. In this work, the evolution of a set of proxies of the financial inclusion is analyzed simultaneously with a group of economic variables.Data is obtained from the Global Findex database and from the World Bank database for the years 2011, 2014 and 2017 including data of three great regions of countries: Latin America, Europe and some Asian countries. The methodology applied is the Self Organizing Maps (SOM). The results show that the financial inclusion and the economic variables are related; those countries with great GDP per capita and high percentage of urban population present better levels of financial inclusion. Nonetheless, there are different groups of countries that move through the time and the results are not conclusive for regions of study.
