This paper presents the results of an electronic survey on the technologicalcompetencies of the Argentine IT workforce. Studies undertaken in Argentina showthat the potential for development of the software and information technologyservices sector faces significant restrictions on both supply and demand. Up tonow, such restrictions were seen from one side of from the other, but not from anintegral perspective. Notwithstanding the fundamental value of such research, away to integrate the vision of supply with that of demand is by way of a crosssector study accounting for the degree of development of the competencies of ITworkforce.Keywords: Competencies, Innovation System, ITJEL-code(s).
