Resumen:
This paper presents the self-styled ?progressive? or ?icufista? Jews of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, who between the thirties and the end of the sixties, participated in socio-cultural, school and sports institutions that adhered to the Idisher Cultur Farband (ICUF). Although its consolidation refers to the times of the Second World War, its Judeo-communist identity was motorized and modeled by a clear party leadership that gathered the causes of the Russian Revolution, Marxism-Leninism and the Third International. But in addition, that identity was built on an amalgam of the pro-Soviet ideology with the European secularist idolistic cultural heritage, other anti-fascist causes and a strong desire for integration into the residence society; Argentine, Brazilian or Uruguayan. Analyzing the way in which this identity was built in the region ? in the heat of the national and international conjunctures ? allows to rescue the history of Judaism linked to the Communist Party, as well as to appreciate the devotion to the Soviet world that its members and institutions manifested to throughout the twentieth century. © https://history.jes.su/s207987840002167-2-1-en
