Resumen:
The combination of magnetic nanoparticles and polymeric matrices may improve the performance of both components, resulting in new properties due to synergisticeffects. These types of nanocomposites are traditionally prepared by simply mixing a minor weight fraction of surface-modified nanoparticles with the polymer matrix. However, if the magnetic nanoparticle content is increased, nanoparticle aggregation occurs which is especially important for magnetic properties due to interparticle dipolar forces. In this context, we propose a simple inexpensive coprecipitation method for the low agglomerated growth of a high content of cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles onto bacterial nanocellulose (BNC). The synthesis method promotes nanoparticles nucleation more than nanoparticles growth which favors agglomeration and small size nanoparticles. As characterization techniques Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) and SQUID Magnetometry, were used.
