Resumen:
Ilex paraguariensis plantations cover more than 160.000 ha in Misiones. Actually, plantations have good production, but more degraded plantations are arising caused by monoculture and inadequate soil management practices. Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) isolated from I. paraguariensis roots and rhizosphere are a promising alternative to mitigate that problem. We inoculated 6 and 50-year-old plantations with native PGPB strains and evaluated changes due to inoculation in solar radiation interception and chlorophylls concentrations. Solar radiation interception was greater in inoculated plants in 6-yeard-old plantations while no changes were observer in 50-year-old one. No changes were observer in chlorophylls concentrations.
