Resumen:
The emergence of the Economic Commission for Latin America, ECLA, in 1948, can be considered as a continuation of the modality of conferences and Pan-American meetings that were taking place from end 19th century, growing in the context of Second World War, postwar and Cold War period. This paper especially focuses on the Latin American economy?s key discussions when thinking global economy; and in what it has been called ?away team?, composed of the Argentine Raúl Prebisch, Daniel Cosío Villegas and Víctor Urquidi both Mexicans, and Belgian -US naturalized Robert Triffin, economists who thought the region jointly, with active participation in the period 1942?1949 debate. Within the period was central the first Central Banking Experts Meeting, held Mexico DF, 1946.
