Resumen:
Diabetes presents challenges to the health care, characteristic of long term illness. It requires, in part, adjusting daily habits to avoid bodily injury and consider the emotions in the transition of the disease. From the construction of audiovisual data and observations, as part of research funded by the University of Buenos Aires, directed by Dra. Ana Dominguez Mon, we look at how the administration, management and practice these daily habits, turned-care, they are traversed by stereotypes, values and gender mandates. In this framework, the paper analyzes the link between diabetes, care and gender in the daily lives of members of a group of people living with diabetes and attending a health center in the town of Jose Leon Suarez (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
