Resumen:
An attemp to incorporate copper species is the structure of MCM-48 is carried out. In pursuing this two different synthetic routes are followed: a classical hydrothermal synthesis and a wet impregnation of the MCM.48 precursor (without elimination of organic directional agent) with Cu(AcAc) 2 . The copper loading is in the 2-20% weight percent. The samples are characterized by XRD, BET, FTIR of adsorbed CO, TPR y TEM. The hidrotermal synthesis does not allow to incorporate higher loading than 8% without destroying the mesoporous structure. From wet impregnation, copper loading as high as 20% can be incorporated, preserving the MCM.48 structure. XRD results indicates that both Cu (I) and Cu(II) species are present in Cu/MCM-48, the former incorporated in the mesoporous structure. FTIR results indicates that the fraction of each species depends on the copper loading and the preparation method. The samples are evaluated for the liquid phase hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde using H 2 as the reductant in a Parr reactor. The catalytic patterns indicate that the best performance is reached for copper catalyst incorporated into the mesoporous structure of MCM-48.
