Resumen:
Fragaria x ananassa var. camarosa is one of the varieties ofstrawberries grown in INTA-Famaillá. It is a herbaceous plant, with a root system in the fi rst 30 cm of the soil. The aim of thiswork was to characterize the anatomy of root and the morphologyof endomycorrhizas. 10 individuals per treatment were collected(without disinfection ?S/D? and with disinfection ?C/D?, metamsodium). Samples were treated with conventional techniques. Theprimary structure of root presented unistrate epidermis, exodermis, cortex parenchyma with longitudinal air channels, endodermis, unistrate pericycle and diarch stele. The secondary structure showeddifferent stages of early growth, epidermal debris, exodermis andcortical parenchyma (primary structure) attached to the peridermin formation, internally scarce cortical parenchyma and vascularsystem. The secondary xylem presented protoxylematic points 2-4.We observed 2 morphological types of endomycorrhiza: Arum andParis. The air channels observed in the cortex parenchyma of theprimary structure are associated with the Arum morphology. Theradical anatomy and the presence of endomycorrhiza in var. camarosaare described for the fi rst time.
