Resumen:
The biochemicalpathways developed by many organisms for satisfying their nutrient and energydemands, often contribute to the recycling of elements in an ecosystem. Theimportance of such processes in the nature were early stressed by Winogradsky,Beijerinck and Van Niel (see refs 1, 2) who demonstrated that special groups ofmicroorganisms normally participate in the redox reactions which occur indifferent habitats of the earth. The carbon, nitrogen and sulfur cycles were proposedfor describing the most important processes involved in the cyclic turnover ofthe elements in nature
