Resumen:
The Argentine government created the first Decent Work Programme (2004- 2007) as the central nucleus of inclusion and social protection policies, followed by a second (2008-2011), and the third Decent Work Programme per Country 2012-2015, which was launched in July 2012. In the latter, the signatories set out the fourth priority objective: Consolidate the extension of social protection coverage and promote the culture of prevention of occupational risks, in which policies were framed according to the principles of ILO Convention No. 102 and Recommendation No. 202, establishing results to be achieved and indicators of compliance. The experience in Argentina presents with characteristics of a FederalState, with local peculiarities and relevant institutional fragmentation. in 2009, in the context of economic recovery, the Universal Child Allowance for Social Protection (AUH) was implemented by decision of President Cristina Fernández, commencing a new implementation process with a minimum social protection floor that two years later in 2011 was extended totransfers to pregnant women or Universal Allowance for Pregnant Women(AUE). The AUH programme is dealt with in depth throughout this chapter, whichpresents its main characteristics, its connection with the standards established in ILO Recommendation No. 202, its conditionalities and current modifications andconcludes with the main impacts of the measure. The methodological approachis from a rights and gender focus, based on official information sources andsecondary studies.
