Resumen:
The analysis covers the Plan for Unemployed Household Heads (Plan Jefes y Jefas de Hogar Desocupados – PJJHD), the Programme for the Social Inclusion of Families (Programa Familias por la Inclusión Social – IDH), the Action Now programme (Programa Manos a la Obra – PMO) and the Programme for the Elderly (Programa Adulto Mayor Más-PAMM). These programmes are aimed at alleviating social conflicts and at mitigating the exacerbation of poverty and inequality caused by the serious political and institutional crisis that occurred in Argentina in December 2001. The research covered cash transfer programmes because of their direct impact on poverty, measured by the level of income in the country, by household or per capita. On the other hand, the study took a closer look at the PJJHD and PAMM, focusing particularly on the mechanisms that these programmes provide for access and claims.
