Key questions:how do university-educated ?high-skilled? Venezuelans in ?low-skilled? positions experience (in)visibility & ambivalent status of essential work (gig/platform econ)? does being on the ?frontline? change or reinforce perception of ?skill?/ ?value? / ?freedom? and of social class in relation to work and political participation?(how) do they negotiate / make sense of/ reconcile work precarity / (in)flexibility with the (downward?) social mobility vis-a-vis the effects of the pandemic?Methods20 qualitative interviews with Venezuelan migrants in Buenos AiresSurvey (n=229 - fieldwork: Abril 2021) with Vzlan migrants, working during the pandemic in BsAsPart of both samples: platform workers (Rapi/Glovo/PedidosYa, Shopper, Uala) Challenges?
