Resumen:
These phenomena have brought Populism to the centre of discussion across the globe (Rovira et al, 2017). They have also put the Latin American experience in the spotlight, not only because Latin America is ?the land of Populism? (De la Torre, 2017: 238), but also because Latin American countries experienced some these phenomena a decade before: anti-austerity movements that led to radical populist governments. Currently Latin American ?Left turn? is being replaced in several countries by new types of right-wing governments, or contested by anti-populist right-wing leaders. How could the current polarization of Argentine society be described? In which terms can we define the Kirchner administrations as ?populist?? What are the theoretical implications of this case that could help to analyse the polarization of other democracies around the world?
