We present a mathematical model for bacterial infections over complex networks of individuals. Within each node, individuals interact among each others and bacteria can be transmitted; moreover, mutations, horizontal transfer anddevelopment of antibiotic resistance are considered. In addition, nodes are connected through weighted edges, andconsequently they are able to interact. As a result, the infection may be propagated over the network. We perform ananalysis on this propagation as well as some numerical experiments in order to test the accuracy of the model and toanalyze the importance of different factors such as sanitary measures and the imposition of a quarantine.
