Resumen:
Myelin is the membrane material wrapping axons in nerves. As other tissues, myelin is prone to inflammation. Severalagents are mediators of inflammation. Among them, secretoryphospholipases A2 (PLA2) and nitric oxide (NO) have beenreported to attack and/or change the myelin structure as seenby electron microscopy (EM). Nevertheless, the EM samplepreparation has been also reported to alter the myelin structureitself, causing mainly shrinking of the membrane [1]. This effectcan enhance or mask some structural modifications. Inthis report we analyze the effect of PLA2 and NO by usingSAXS as a non invasive (structure preserving) analytical technique
